Easter with the Jones'
Okay, quiet moment is here, little kids are in bed and now I'll post about Easter (and yes, I realize that was several weeks ago :-). With G and K's birthdays only three weeks apart and then Easter thrown right in the middle of that, sometimes the holiday sneaks up and then is gone before I really get to enjoy it. As a family, we always do the same thing on Easter Sunday--we go to Easter Services with Mimi and Papa and then we go "to the beach" to have seafood with my family but I like to throw in a couple of Easter/Spring related activities for the girls.
A trip to visit the Easter Bunny is always at the top of my list. The first time that K saw the Easter Bunny at our local mall she immediately turned and wanted to be picked up and so I wasn't holding out much hope for a quality pic this year (if I was able to get one at all), but the old, "your baby sister is sitting with the Easter Bunny" trick was enough to grab a couple of shots and as luck would have it, the first one was a keeper.
Next on the list is an Easter Egg hunt. I took the little girls to the preschool egg hunt and was hoping that we would get to go as a family to our local FCC egg hunt but it was rained out this year and then we weren't able to make the rain date. That was a real downer because this is the first year that G didn't get to do an egg hunt. She didn't seem to be bothered by it but it sure made me realize how grown-up she is all of a sudden.
This year we were lucky enough to get some magic jelly beans. Here the girls are planting them the day before Easter.
Surprise! The magic jelly beans grew into flower lollipops :-)
Easter morning and the girls with their "tote baskets"
Easter Service with Mimi and Papa
Our trip "to the beach" for seafood--it was really windy!
Aunt Jean and our beautiful cousin Elizabeth
"The Three Stooges"--after a long and busy Easter day, the last stop was at Grammy and D-daddy's house and as you can see, they were "done" :-)

"Momma, the tooth fairy didn't come....."
The subject line says it all--I'm definitely not going to win any Mother of the Year awards this way.
My poor G has now lost 11 teeth and as time has gone on, the tooth fairy has gotten a little slack. She'll have to do her magic while G is at school today :-)
I always feel (and I'm kidding myself obviously) that after the holidays, life won't be so crazy. It seems like it has been non-stop holiday and birthday celebrations around here since January. I would love to be the blogger/facebooker that can post in the moment but sadly, it looks like it's not going to happen anytime soon. I've got my fingers crossed that I can post about Easter next week and maybe after that I'll get around to putting up the fun things that we did on Spring Break.
For now, I'll leave you with this pic of my grown-up girl!

The first haircut--sniffle, sniffle :-(
I knew I needed to have it done, but I still hated to do it. That first cut immediately makes them look much older.....the baby look is gone and the toddler look takes over.
My poor K's hair has always been on the thin side and as it has grown in, it has just gotten scraggly looking. She had these cute little curls on the ends and I was afraid that once I made that first cut, those would be gone....sniffle, sniffle :-(....and so I had put it off as long as possible.
The "before" pic
She did such a good job sitting still
All trimmed with some added curls
Muggin' with her big sis

We have a 3 Year Old in the House
It's true--we now have a three year old in the house. Complete with toddler attitude, which seems to really surface when she's tired. Do I hear a "No"????
And in keeping the Jones tradition of the week long birthday celebration, K had a celebration with our dear friends M and A the weekend before her birthday (with cake of course), then her Mimi and Papa came to dinner and we had cake, we celebrated her actual birthday last Thursday with donuts, her birthday dinner with Grammy and Ddaddy (with cake) will be this weekend, and her party with her friends will be next weekend. And if you guessed there would be cake, you are correct!
This was K's "pink" birthday. If you asked her what she wanted for her birthday, she would say "pink". That was the response for what type of cake, what type of present, what type of balloon. So we tried hard to accommodate :-)
Her beautiful cake that M and A brought.
Princess Duplos from Mimi and Papa
Her "pink" bike
Her "pink" Barbie car
Donuts (and milk) for breakfast
Loved her "pink" LeapPad
My cute girl!
